The archipelago is home to more than 3,000 species of fish and 448 species of coral, here you can combine unbelievable muck-diving with pristine coral reefs and shoals of schooling fish. Dive sites accessible from Dumaguete can be divided into 3 different areas, Dauin, APO Island, and Siquijor Island. Dauin is where you go in search of the little weird and wonderful critters amongst the ‘muck’, sightings can include wonderpus, mimic octopus, flamboyant cuttlefish, nudibranch, frogfish, pygmy seahorses and blue ringed octopus. APO Island is a 72-hectare volcanic island with beautiful coral reef, huge schools of pelagic fish, and plenty of green sea turtles. Siquijor is a tiny island with over 20 sites brimming with macro, healthy coral and wall dives.

Atlantis Dumaguete’s 5* PADI CD Centre is just one of a few centres with such a rating in Asia. Here you will find the highest standard of dive education, first class facilities and world class dive guides. The dive centre has 60 individual purpose-built equipment storage cubby-holes to keep your equipment dry and organized, high quality rental kit, spacious boats, a purpose-built training pool, fresh beach towels every day, snacks and drinking water, hot water shower in the dive shop, multiple compressors for Air, Nitrox and Trimix and to top all that, your equipment is carried for you. There are choices of dive sites daily, just have a chat with your guide about where you would like to go; the many dive sites are within a 10-minute boat ride from the resort and diving takes place in small groups of no more than 6 people.

Included within your diving package are 3 boat trips, you can choose from dive times of 9.00 am, 11.00 am, 2.00 pm, 4.00 pm and 6.00 pm as well as night dives. Please note that there is a marine park fee of $50 for a 7 night stay to be paid locally. For something quite special try a Fluro Night Dive, by using a special filtered blue light and a yellow mask visor you will see corals and anemones stand out in neon colours. Lizardfish and spearer mantis shrimp glow an eerie green colour, scorpionfish emit a reddish-purple luminance, hermit crabs appear illuminated from within, seagrass take on a reddish-hue and nudibranchs will glow like they have been plugged into the mains. Night diving using 'blue light' is a whole new unique experience where you can witness first-hand the magic of fluorescence!
