Your first stop is Magic Island Dive Resort in Moalboal, a small, intimate family run resort nestled between palm trees overlooking the mountains of Cebu Island. The cottages are situated in lush green tropical gardens, each with a balcony that has ocean or pool views. The resort has a lovely restaurant and bar, and the onsite spa offers a variety of pampering treats. The stunning house reef is close by so divers can walk in for their early morning dive and finish the day with an exciting night dive. One of the many attractions of the house reef is the Mandarin dive where these tiny little fish come out of hiding to mate, other delights include schools of jacks and tuna, and soft, hard and fan corals. Most dive sites are around 20 minutes away by boat, Pescador Island must be one of the most famous dive sites in the area and comprises of tunnels, swim throughs and caverns. Its huge walls drop to 60m+ and there is an abundance of reef fish, along with colourful soft corals, gorgonian sea fans, white tip reef sharks and the occasional thresher shark. Tongo Point is another stunning wall dive with ledges, overhangs, and crevices where critters such as nudibranch shelter, turtles, clownfish, and barracuda also make an appearance. Dolphins can also be seen throughout the year. Visibility ranges from 10-35m and is consistent throughout the seasons, with sea temperatures usually around 27-28°c.
After your car and ferry transfer the adventure continues at Magic Oceans Dive Resort in Bohol where you will be welcomed into a beachfront paradise surrounded by white sand beaches and tropical jungle. The spacious bungalows offer panoramic views from their large balconies, and the resort has a wonderful restaurant and bar, and a pool that is perfect for advancing your skills, or just relaxing around on those lazy days. For extra pampering there is an onsite spa, and a yoga terrace available for classes. The superb house reef is easily accessed from the dive centre, and with 16km of dive sites along the coastline you will be spoilt for choice. The resort’s traditional ‘Bangka Boats’ will get you out exploring the 30+ dive sites with diving suitable for all levels of diver. The area is famous for its incredible wall and macro diving, where you will hope to see colourful corals, turtles, sea needles, nudibranch, and schools of humphead parrotfish. Lamanok Island is another popular site, great for macro such as frogfish, nudibranch, blue spotted ray, and octopus. A night dive at Wonder Wall offers the chance to see Mandarin fish, a unique experience as these cheeky little creatures tend to stay hidden until after dark when they come out to play. Whale Sharks are often seen during a regular dive at Magic Oceans, and just an hour away from the resort the team discovered an area where you can interact with these friendly giants on a regular basis!
