For the macro lovers, there are many different types of fascinating nudibranchs to be found. If you’re lucky, you might even spot manta rays and whale sharks gliding through the water.

Richelieu Rock is one of the most famous dive sites in Thailand. The submerged pinnacle is bursting with colour, so is perfect for underwater photographers, and is home to everything from large whale sharks and tiny harlequin shrimp, to seahorses, batfish and schools of fusiliers. The best time to dive here is between November and May, with whale sharks spotted from January to April.

Southern Andaman Sea

In the Southern Andaman Sea, you’ll find the iconic Phi Phi Islands, renowned for their dramatic limestone cliffs and crystal-clear waters. Here you will find Leopard sharks resting on the sandy seabed, reef sharks and colourful fish, swimming through the vibrant corals. For beginners or those looking to start their underwater journey.

Gulf of Thailand
