Camel Dive Club's diving centre is located at Camel Hotel, in the centre of Naama Bay. It offers the full range of diving and snorkelling services, including PADI courses, guided boat diving and technical diving. For courses, Camel Hotel's specially designed diver training pool is available. Open water dives take place from the beach or from the boat. Boat excursions to local sites, the Straits of Tiran and Ras Mohammed National Park normally depart from Naama Bay jetty, which is approximately 5 minutes’ walk away. Boats to Dunraven and Thistlegorm leave from the main jetty in Sharm el Sheikh.

A package day consists of 2 dives with a dive guide, including 12 lt tanks and weights. Most diving excursions are by boat, although there are options of diving from shore. For guided diving by boat, there are over 40 different beautiful dive sites in Ras Mohammed National Park, the Straits of Tiran, and along the mainland coast. Journey time by boat is 20 min. to max. 1 hour 30 min. Boats normally leave between 08:30 and 09:00 and return to the jetty between 16:00 and 17:00. Alternatively, guided shore dives on the ‘house reef’ can be scheduled in the morning or afternoon.

The first day diving are conducted either at the sheltered ‘local’ sites along the main coastline or alternatively from the shore (subject to availability). These easy, relaxing dives enable guests to check weights and buoyancy, and re-orientate to the underwater world. After the first day, according to guests diving level and our instructor’s recommendation, guests may join boat excursions to Ras Mohammed National Park and the Straits of Tiran.

Buffet lunch is served between dives and guests may enjoy the sun and friendly company while relaxing. Water and soft drinks, and toilets, are available on board. The boats have sundecks and easy access to the sea, so non-divers may enjoy snorkelling, swimming, or sunbathing as well. A third dive may be added on request (extra charge applies). Equipment rental, lunch and drinks on the boat, and National Park entrance fees are not included.

Visibility is great all year, it varies from 20m to 60m dependant on the site and the weather. In the summer months divers can hope to see whitetip sharks, hammerheads and possibly manta ray at the reefs of Tiran and Ras Mohamed, along with beautiful soft corals, scorpionfish, lionfish, barracudas, large schools of jacks, glass fish, snappers, and other types of sharks to name but a few.
