Murex Manado has a casual but classic vibe and is a great place to stay whether you are looking for an amazing diving holiday, a romantic getaway, or an exciting destination for all the family to enjoy together. There are fifteen comfortable and spacious bungalows, of which twelve enjoy garden views, and the other three have ocean and pool views. Each bungalow has an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, complimentary tea, coffee and drinking water, king size or twin beds, and a lovely veranda with seating. There is the option to add an extra bed or a cot, and at Murex Bangka there are adjoining rooms which have internal doors thereby creating a large family suite.
The resort is family friendly and childcare can be arranged on request. Children can take advantage of the stand-up paddleboards and rope swing and spend many an hour in the swimming pool. The resort has junior life jackets and small sized snorkelling masks and fins. Children aged 8+ can have a go at scuba diving in the purpose bult pool, and from 10 years they can experience their first breath underwater! There is also a wonderful selection of land tours available for the whole family such as the Minahasan Highland Tour which takes in traditional markets, local villages, Mahawu Volcano and Lake Linow. Tangkoko Nature Reserve and Tasikoki Animal Rescue Centre are also close by.
Underwater photographers will be in their element in the designated camera room which has personal preparation areas, plug sockets, bright lighting and air conditioning, there is also a flat-screen television for viewing marine life presentations and underwater videography. For those lazy days grab a good book and make your way to the ocean view infinity pool where you will find pool towels and sun loungers ready for you to lay back and unwind. For some additional pampering visit the onsite spa and enjoy a relaxing massage, just one of the many treatments on offer. There are indoor and outdoor dining spaces where you will be served a mouth-watering variety of dishes from around the world.
Murex Dive Resorts number one priority is to promote conservation and ensure that their reefs, marine life, and natural landscapes are protected. Murex’s founder, Dr Hans Batuna was pivotal in promoting marine conservation in North Sulawesi and he was instrumental in the creation of the Bunaken Marine Park – one of Indonesia’s first Marine Protected Areas. Today Murex work with several conservation organizations and the Indonesian Government as well as developing their own initiatives which include Plastic Reduction, Clean ups and Coastal River Guardianship, Plastic Recycling, Solar Power, Coral Reef Awareness and Regeneration (Ocean Gardening), Responsible Marine Tourism and Local Community Education and Economic Support.
