A designated UNESCO Marine Biosphere Reserve in the heart of the Coral Triangle, Puerto Galera is the diving capital of the Philippines with the strait of Verde Island Passage declared the world’s epicentre of marine biodiversity and evolution. With over 40 world-class dive sites on offer, Puerto Galera has something to offer for every diver of every level.

Scandi Divers’ on-site oceanfront PADI and NAUI dive centre combines excellent facilities with an expert team of guides and instructors who have an intimate knowledge of all the local sites to ensure a 5-star personalised experience. The dive centre offers a vast range of courses from absolute beginner through to advanced, speciality and technical courses. Whatever your level or passion, you will be well looked after by the team who will be on hand to assist with your every need.

Dive sites are easily reachable from the doorstep of the resort with the majority being within a 10-minute boat trip from the shores. Verde Island is approximately one hour by boat and is offered as a day trip included in the package. Tick off bucket list dives in a world-class destination, including the drop-off at Verde Island with its strong currents and large schools of pelagic fauna, a thrill-seeking drift through the canyons with their spectacular coral formations, marvel the underwater oceanic treasures around the sunken Alma Wreck or explore Giant Clams for a myriad of magical macro.

Shore-based diving and night diving can also be arranged. For a one-of-kind-experience, blackwater diving is not to be missed. Bringing the twinkle of the night sky to the dark depths of the ocean floor, prepare to be awe-struck by the rare and quirky delights of the blackwater. Artificial lights placed around the dive area simulate the moon and illuminate exquisite nocturnal oceanic wonders, attracting creatures you will have never seen before.

Scandi Divers dive centre has ample space to accommodate up to 65 divers and a dedicated camera room for underwater photography enthusiasts.

The Philippines is in the heart of the Pacific and blessed with tropical weather, there are two pronounced seasons, dry and wet. Late October to early June tends to be the most popular time however the critters and marine life are found here year-round. Visibility is around 15-25m, sometimes offering over 30m in certain areas. br/>
Just across the Verde Island passage is where you will find the island of Mindoro and Puerto Galera. Famous for their world class diving these destinations should be on every diver’s bucket list. The sheer diversity is what draws divers to the area hoping for sightings of the many underwater delights such as nudibranch, parrotfish, shrimps, pygmy seahorses, pipefish, large schools of big fish, huge sea fans, white tip sharks, octopus, stunning walls, vibrant reefs, and colourful hard and soft coral. The dive sites at Verde Island are some of the richest in biodiversity and the crystal-clear waters make it every underwater photographer’s dream.

There are many flights available to Manila through several leading airlines. We can find the route that best suits your requirements. On arrival to Manila International Airport, you will be transferred to a hotel in Manila for a one-night stopover before your transfer to Scandi Divers Resort the next day.

The following morning, you will be transferred by road to Batangas Port which takes 2 - 2.5 hours. You will then be taken by boat to Puerto Galera which takes approximately one hour making your total transfer time between 3 and 3.5 hours.

You do not need a VISA to enter the Philippines.
