Beauty and nature surround the resort. The summit of Mt Talinis provides a spectacular backdrop, while the towering palm trees frame the resort’s shoreline and give way to an ocean filled with so many treasures that this area has become renowned as one the best diving destinations in the world. Endless critters of all size, shape and colour make Duain’s volcanic-sand waters a muck diving paradise, meaning that every dive is an enthralling treasure hunt amongst the hugely biodiverse offerings that make up one of the best ecosystems on the planet.

While the waters are a draw in themselves, the resort holds an equally special allure. The charm here not only lies in the relaxed and intimate standard of luxury, but in the exceptional service by a team who will go the extra mile to make you feel truly at home. Suites, apartments and penthouses are spacious with carefully planned interiors to create beautiful living spaces. Along with carved furniture, rattan seating, traditional thatched roofing and deluxe bathrooms (many of which are outdoor!), you will find all the modern comforts you would expect. Interiors have been designed to maximise the external views of surrounding tropical beauty, with all rooms featuring a veranda or balcony to provide you with your own private outdoor sanctuary to listen to the gentle hum of nature. Various room options are available to accommodate different size groups with some suites boasting their own private infinity pool.

Days here unfold leisurely. When you’re not enjoying resplendent ocean escapades, spend lazy days soaking in one of the impressive infinity pools and take in the stunning views of boundless sea. Families are well-catered for with plenty of facilities to keep the younger ones happy around the clock.

Dining is no exception to the high standards. Restaurants enjoy stunning views and offer a delightful mix of casual and fine dining. The well-stocked Poolside Bar with its comfy deck seating and afternoon ‘happy hour’ is a great spot for relaxed snacking and sipping cocktails; while the Bakery and Coffee Shop next to the family pool offers a delicious range of freshly baked treats and desserts. Beach barbeques, treetop dining and private candle-lit dinners on the beach are all on offer for a truly memorable culinary experience.

For the guests who plan to dive away many a spectacular hour under the water, the incredible experience extends way beyond the shoreline to the depths of the bountiful waters that will not disappoint. Atmosphere Resorts & Spa is located along Duain’s coastline, only 40-minutes by boat from Apo Island, in an idyllic position to dive in stunning biodiversity with hundreds of coral and fish species on nearly every site. The resort has its own spectacular house reef, where green turtles can be seen cruising the seagrass shallows, and where macro-lovers will be in their element with many a camouflaged critter hiding on the pristine brown volcanic sand or in the cracks and crevasses of the main reef. Apo Island is an absolutely incredible protected marine park, bursting with rich and unique sea life, a renowned turtle hotspot, considered to be one of the best diving islands in the Philippines. From large pelagic schools to the tiniest of critters, these waters are home to a staggering array of diversity with sites to suit every level and interest, and a true haven for underwater photographers.

Atmosphere’s Dive Centre is wonderfully equipped with all the first-class amenities needed for relaxed, safe and enjoyable diving. The experienced and friendly team has solid knowledge of all the surrounding sites, and will help guide you through a mix of reef and macro diving using their expertise of the dive conditions and seasonal critters. The impressive 5* PADI Career Development Centre is large, welcoming and conveniently positioned steps away from the shore, with small dive groups guaranteed (maximum 4 divers per Dive Master). Diving takes place either on the house reef, along the 20 sites offered on Duain’s coastline or around the 10 sites at Apo Island, depending on divers’ preferences and needs. A full range of courses are on offer and the state-of-the-art centre includes ample storage spaces, complimentary Nitrox for all nitrox-certified divers, a camera/video room with private workspace for each diver and full equipment rental.

The luxury continues out at sea, where the dive crew will assist with all your dive gear before and after the dive, and will provide you with fruit, refreshments and hot face towels when you exit the water. At the end of a spectacular days’ diving, you can look forward to a drink on the beach with a wonderful buzzy post-diving vibe.

Close by Siquijor Island has some great wall dives, healthy coral and lots of marvellous macro. Day trips to Oslob have become world famous, here guests can snorkel with whale sharks.
