Capturing Critters in Lembeh is the biggest Underwater Photography event in the Lembeh Strait and is attended by Photographers and Videographers from all over the World.
With our very own Dr Alex Tattersall guest hosting, along with fellow Photo Pro’s Henley and Jade Spiers, Lembeh Resorts own full time, in-house Photo Pro, Frederic Juneau and their two Marine Biologists Dimpy Jacobs and Agustian Peloa, you may well be bringing home some of your best images to date.
No matter what level of photographer or videographer you are, you’ll learn how to take your underwater imaging to the next level. Whether you are diving with a compact camera, bringing a totally new camera set up with you or an advanced DSLR you’ll learn how to get the best shots possible from your system.
From Alex
The Capturing Critters workshop at Lembeh Resort is a very special photography event indeed. You will arrive and be welcomed into the luxurious tropical surroundings and be introduced to a unique timetable of events which will inspire you in many directions. The sessions draw on the knowledge and skills of several facilitators and offer group talks focused on critter photography, underwater videography, post processing and marine biology. Alongside the group talks, daily individual one-to-one sessions are scheduled which will allow you to push your own personal practice in a non-competitive and supportive environment.
The land-based learning sessions will be complemented with a full programme of relaxed yet hugely productive diving in the world-renowned Lembeh Straits (guided by some of the best spotting eyes in the world) and you are of course free to dip in and out of the programme and diving activity as you wish. I was part of the team for the Capturing Critters workshop in 2017 and think it was one of the most dynamic and exciting, intensive and constructive underwater photography/videography/marine science programmes I've seen. I'm delighted to be involved again.
As always with my workshops, I'll be arriving laden with toys which will be available for all participants to play with. Among these will be some of the latest shiny things for creative lighting, magnification, new perspectives, bioluminescence, and negative space. If you're lucky, I'll be bringing my marbles (!), my magic ball (!!) and my tube of joy (!!!). I hope you can join us for an unforgettable experience in a fabulous resort in the ultimate location for Capturing Critters.
