The key to freediving is relaxation, and the techniques Marcus teaches are used in a huge variety of situations, as well as enjoying the Oceans.
Those of you who visit the dives shows may have seen Marcus and his “NoTanx” team. At each show they have a huge presence, giving talks and free try sessions. Marcus himself has a great energy; his calm and relaxed approach to his training would put anyone at ease.
The week’s workshop is designed for absolute beginners to Freediving, and includes the Foundation and Open Water Course in the price. Intermediate and skilled Freedivers are welcome to join and take advantage of the further coached activities.
The foundation course is a 1 day course that covers the basic philosophy and techniques of NTStyle Apnea. The course includes 4 theory sessions, 2 practical sessions, and 1 practical exam covering:
Safety
Relaxation
Basic physiology
Breathing techniques
During the Open Water Course, you will enjoy 3 theory sessions and 2 practical sessions (up to 3hours in Open Water) with Marcus. The course includes 2 theory sessions, 2 open water sessions, and theory exam covering:
Open water diving and relaxation
Refining of style and techniques
Equipment and training methods
Soft equalisation techniques
Enjoyment of deep diving
Safety and Dive planning
Once the Foundation and Open Water courses are complete you will be able to spend the rest of the week enjoying and practising your new Freediving skills. For those who would like further coaching, Marcus is on hand to offer help in guidance in the following activities:
Sled Diving
Rope clinics
Competition training
