Gozo is a stunning, unspoilt destination and BLOCK is the perfect resort for those looking for flexible holiday accommodation from which to enjoy everything the island has to offer. The development is made up of 24 units, set over 2 floors, comprising of a mix of hotel rooms and one-bedroom apartments. The apartments can comfortably sleep up to 4 people in a double room, with an additional sofa bed in the living room. All areas of the BLOCK are easily accessible and there is a lift to all floors. Conveniently located on the ground floor is Front, a bar and restaurant that serves a wide selection of beers, wines, and spirits, along with breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.

BLOCK is situated onsite at Ritual Dive Centre in Xlendi which is a short 5-minute walk from a Xlendi Bay beach and a 10-minute drive from the centre of Victoria, bus links are just 50 yards away. Xlendi is a typical Gozitan fishing village and lies on the southwest coast of Gozo, the area is a popular with families and those that love water sports, especially scuba diving due to the close proximity to wonderful dive sites, and reef formations that are suitable for divers of all levels. Café lined Xlendi Bay is surrounded by stunning scenery, and the small but perfectly formed beach has shallow waters that are a great for snorkelling and swimming. A path zigzags up the cliffs with the reward of stunning coastal views at the top.

Ritual Dive Centre is owned by Rachel and Nick, Rachel has dived for many years and being Maltese knows the islands inside out, Nick worked for 11 years in Koh Tao as an Instructor and loves island life so much that he’s swapped one for the other! Together they pride themselves on offering the best possible experience by focusing on the diver’s needs and making sure they have fun whilst ensuring that safety and conservation are always at the forefront of everything they do. They have a pledge to their employees, customers, society, and the environment that revolves around positivity, diversity, sustainability, and education.

The hotel rooms are moderate and simplistic in design and offer both single and double beds. All are equipped with en-suite bathrooms with either a bath or shower. Each room accommodates up to 2 people and there is a lift to all floors.

The one bedroom apartments consist of a double bedroom and a sofa in the living room that can be converted into a double bed. It can comfortable accommodate four people and has a living room and dining area. There is also a fully equipped kitchen for those nights when guests wish to eat in. There is a lift to all floors.

BLOCK offers their hotel rooms as bed and breakfast, and the one-bedroom apartments are self-catering with a fully equipped kitchen although breakfast can be provided for an additional cost. A sweet and savoury continental buffet breakfast is offered daily in the breakfast room, and in the development’s wine bar and restaurant, Front, guests can enjoy local dishes.

For foodies there is so much temptation on this small island as it has a wonderful selection of restaurants offering everything from fine dining to traditional Gozitan cuisine. Taste the traditional sheep milk cheeses known as gbejniet, and savoury pastizzi (miniature pastries), and dont forget to sample the distinctive Gozitan wines and craft beers, there are agricultural holdings across the island that offer guided tours and tastings.

Xlendi has a good selection of restaurants serving a variety of different cuisines. The Boathouse is a popular seafood restaurant in the area, and The Diamond is the place to go for good old fish and chips and what is said to be the best Sunday roast on the island!

Ritual offer diving packages ranging from a single dive to 6/12/15 dives. and these can be accompanied or unaccompanied. The packages include a professional guide, weights, weight belt and transport by truck to and from the dive sites. Equipment is available to hire and a range of PADI courses are offered. Night dives can be arranged at an additional cost, along with Nitrox and Comino day trips.

Gozo is a small island so dive sites are never more than a 20-minute drive or a short boat ride away. The coastline is surrounded by high cliffs and over half of the area cannot be reached from shore. Boats may be used to access several dive sites beneath the cliffs and the dive sites of Comino island and the wrecks near Malta. Visibility is fantastic and there is a variety of colourful marine life along with drop offs, caves, tunnels, and wrecks both off Gozo and Comino.

Gozo is part of the Mediterranean archipelago of Malta which lies to the South of Sicily. Sea temperatures remain above 15c even in the winter, and this combined with excellent visibility down to around 30m means that this destination is great for year-round diving.

The winters are short and mild, and the summers long, hot, and sunny. There are few cold days and never frost or snow. Rainfall in Malta and Gozo is minimal with an average of 20 inches per year, and in summer it rarely rains. June through to August are the hottest months and the sultry temperatures are eased with sea breezes.

Those wanting to visit Gozo will fly into Malta and then get the ferry from Malta to Gozo. Transfer from Malta Airport to the ferry and then ferry to accommodation takes approximately 2 hours. The ferry from Malta to Gozo costs in the region of €5 return and is purchased on arrival.

Daily flights are available from a number of UK airports direct to Luqa International Airport (MLA), this is the only airport in Malta and is around 5 miles southwest of the capital Valletta. The flight time is approximately 3 hours from the UK making it an excellent holiday option for both short breaks and longer trips.

You do not require a VISA to enter Gozo.
