learn to dive with oonasdivers

We here at Oonasdivers all agree that learning to dive is one of the best decisions we have ever made. It has opened up our lives to countless opportunities, allowed us to travel to countries we would probably have never considered, and we can all hand on heart say we have made some lifetime friends, simply because we share a passion.

Diving brings people together, people that may never cross paths in normal day to day life, people that have an innate love of the ocean and understand how privileged we are to be able to be part of this amazing underwater world.

PADI is the world leader in diver training, and PADI courses are available in the majority of our land based and liveaboard tours. Whether you're already a qualified diver looking to enhance your skills or a someone new to our sport PADI offer a range of courses that would suit you.

Below are just some of the courses that are available with a brief description and information on course duration, many speciality courses are also available, please do give us a call and let us help you choose the right destination and course for you.

If you want to experience the underwater world to see if diving is for you, or you do not have enough time to complete your full PADI course, then this is for you. Scuba Diver

This 2 day entry level course is for those who want to get their first diving qualification but do not want to commit to the 4/5 days necessary for the full Open-Water course. Upon completion you will be certified to dive to 12 metres accompanied by a diving professional. This is a perfect course for a family holiday as you can become qualified within 2 days, and still have the opportunity to upgrade to the full PADI Open Water at a later date.

Open Water course

This is the highly recommended entry level qualification. Upon completion you will be certified to dive to 18 metres with another qualified diver. It takes 4/5 days during which you will learn some diving theory and complete some training dives in shallow water before moving into slightly deeper open water. The Open Water course can also be taken as a referral course, where the academics and pool sessions can be completed here in the UK with your local dive centre, then taking just your 4 qualifying dives on holiday, leaving more days for pleasure diving.

Advanced Open Water course

This course takes 2 days and includes 2 compulsory dives (deep and navigation) and 3 elective dives, such as nights, boat, drift. The prerequisite is an Open Water qualification, and once complete you will be qualified to dive to a maximum depth of 30m.

The requirement for this course is a recently (within 6 months) completed PADI Emergency First Response qualification (or equivalent) with CPR. We strongly recommend every recreational diver aims to reach rescue diver.
